Tropical Storm Imelda in 2019 produced significant flooding Southeast Texas and ranks as one of the wettest storms ever to impact the state. According to NOAA, damage was estimated to be in the neighborhood of $5 billion.

Parts of Alaska saw their first widespread snowfall event of the season, with several inches of frozen precipitation falling south and east of Fairbanks along the Eastern Alaska Range. According to the National Weather Service, snow levels dipped down to around 1,200 feet.

The Atlantic hurricane season may still be running a bit behind schedule when it comes to the number of their namesake storms, but what the season has lacked so far in quantity it has made up for in quality, and just pulled off a feat not seen in 90 years.

The FOX Forecast Center is tracking the potential for a developing tropical system in the Atlantic that could produce coastal impacts along the Southeast.
